Lifeguards*
Lifeguards are primarily responsible for the safety of guests in the pool and the safety of guests in areas surrounding the pool. They are expected to enforce all rules and respond to water and first aid emergencies. They are also expected to perform water rescues and administer first aid when necessary. In addition, lifeguards are responsible for the upkeep of the park. This includes trash on the decks, in the pool, bathrooms, employee break areas, and in regions surrounding the park.
All lifeguards must be capable of performing various water rescues on any patron that enters the park. Guards may also be chosen to help with swimming lessons in which case they must be capable of handling up to 7 children at a time in shallow water. All Ellis & Associates lifeguards are also subject to audits at any time.
All lifeguards must pass an Ellis & Associates lifeguard training course (provided by the Chesapeake Beach Water Park) with a test score of 85% or better and specific swimming abilities. Candidates are expected to pay $79.00 for the training. Employees will be reimbursed this amount at the end of the summer if their commitment has been fulfilled.
*Lifeguards must be at least 15 years of age.

Water Park Patrol*
Water park patrol personnel are responsible for regulating park entrances and making sure that no food, beverages, or weapons of any kind are brought into the park. Patrol employees are expected to check all bags entering the park and must be capable of recognizing materials and/or patrons that should not be admitted into the park. Water park patrols will also be responsible for monitoring the guests while they are in the park and be sure that all rules are enforced.
In addition, water park patrol personnel are responsible for emptying trash cans and transporting trash bags and other materials to dumpsters; patrol employees must be capable of lifting up to 15 lbs. at a time. Water park patrol may be asked to perform any additional duties at the managers’ discretion.
Selected applicants will be properly trained and a test will be administered. Potential applicants must pass with a score of 85% or higher to be eligible to be hired.
Requirements: *Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years of age to interview for this position.

Cashiers/Cart Drivers*
Cashiers are the first point of contact for most of our guests at the Water Park. It is important for them to have a positive, courteous, and enthusiastic attitude. Cashiers will be handling our guests money and credit cards, therefore they must have excellent math skills and good record keeping skills. They must also be prepared to work both indoors and outdoors. Equipment used will include; Point of Sale screen, cash register, telephone, intercom, and standard office supplies. Cashiers will be trained and tested on product knowledge. They will be responsible for learning and memorizing the products available in Admissions, The Store and the Beachcomber Grill.
In addition to acting as a cashier, employees hired to fulfill this position will also be responsible for driving the Carts which take the Guests to and from their cars in the parking lots. Physical demands will include; walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting occasionally and reaching. This position requires close contact with guests and with co-workers in the cashier department and Food and Beverage department.
*Requirements: Must have a valid Driver’s License, and be at least 18 years of age or older.

Concession Griller /Fryer*
Applicants interviewing for this position will be working directly with our Guests and therefore must be personable with a friendly and outgoing personality. They will alternate, on an as needed basis between the Beachcomber Outdoor Grill and the indoor fryers and/or pizza oven.
All hired employees will be trained on the Calvert County Health Regulations for Food and Beverage. This includes proper food storage, handling of food, and preparation of all food and beverages at the Water Park. These employees will also learn the Health Codes for proper cleanliness for the Food and Beverage Stations as well as the proper dress code required by the Health Department. A test will be administered and applicants must pass with a score of 85% or higher.
*Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age or older. Must be capable of lifting items up to 20 pounds

Concession Runner*
Applicants interviewing for this position will be working directly with our Guests and therefore must be personable with a friendly and outgoing personality. They will alternate, on an as needed basis between the various stations located inside the Beachcomber Grill. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparation of salads, pouring drinks, removing cooked food from the food warmer to serve to the guests. Runners must be able to work as a team player with other runners, cashiers and cooks in the Beachcomber Grill.
All hired employees will be trained on the Calvert County Health Regulations for Food and Beverage. This includes proper food storage, handling of food, and preparation of all food and beverages at the Water Park. These employees will also learn the Health Codes for proper cleanliness for the Food and Beverage Stations as well as the proper dress code required by the Health Department. A test will be administered and applicants must pass with a score of 85% or higher.
